Caravan to Detroit for MAPSA Press Conference FlexTech Brighton will be joining MAPSA tomorrow for a press conference outside the Governor’s Detroit office to send Lansing a message that it is not okay to use charter school students as pawns in any political agenda.
Keep up the political pressure! Earlier this week, both the House and the Senate introduced bills that would restore the $240 increase and some of the other cuts (but not all). These bills, SB 555 and HB 5078, would need to be passed by each chamber and then signed by the Governor before the restoration of the funding could occur. The Governor released details of her own supplemental budget as well. Restoration of the charter school funding was NOT included in her budget.
