Clarifying Guidelines for Responding to Illness and Exposure

As we are entering cold and flu season, we wanted to clarify some guidelines for how to respond to illness and possible COVID exposure.

If your student is sick with COVID symptoms, we will send them home with the letter attached to this message.  If you keep your student home due to potential COVID symptoms, we also ask that you follow the guidelines of the attached letter.  This letter was written based on guidance from the Livingston County Health Department.

In the most direct terms, if your student has COVID symptoms or has been exposed to someone with COVID, please contact your student's doctor or get your student tested for COVID.  If you learn that your student has COVID, you have a responsibility to report this to the school immediately.

We have done a lot to keep our school safe.  We're happy that we've been recognized by the local media for all of these precautions, but we need your support to ensure that we maintain this level of safety for all students.

To be clear, we are sharing these guidelines to be proactive.  We have not had a positive case reported to FlexTech to date.
