About Ms. Buckberry

Cosette is very excited to join the FlexTech Brighton staff this year as she begins her role of teaching online health and physical education courses.  This is her ninth year of teaching and she has been teaching for Oakland FlexTech since 2016.  Ever since Cosette realized the crucial role education has played in her life, becoming a teacher has been her dream.  Her passion of leading a healthy lifestyle and being physically active stems from participating in many sports while growing up.  She plans to enthusiastically share her passion with her students and teach them about the importance of physical education and health so they can have the necessary tools for engaging in healthy habits as they continue to grow.  One of Cosette’s main teaching goals is to help students discover themselves while having fun and being active throughout the learning process. 

Currently, Cosette resides in East Lansing, where she enjoys cheering on the Michigan State Spartans! She received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University. She also received a Master of Science in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism from the University of Illinois. In her free time, she coaches tennis and basketball at a local high school. Additionally, she likes to travel to Petoskey to catch some amazing sunsets, read good books, go for bike rides, and spend time with family and friends. One interesting fact about her is that she completed the Detroit Marathon in 2014. Cosette is looking forward to a fantastic school year and she is excited to teach about the benefits of good health and being active!
