Meet Mr. Wasmer
B.A. in Biology and Business from Kalamazoo College

I began my career in education teaching science at Southeastern High School in Detroit. As a teacher, I made learning relevant through project based learning and reached more of my students by utilizing a flipped and individualized classroom. I became an Instructional Specialist and then launched a 9th grade academy which supported students in their transition to high school. I then served as Assistant Principal at Central High School in Detroit where I developed a career pathway for students in technology.
I began as the School Leader of FlexTech Brighton in February 2019. I love leading FlexTech where students use project based learning to connect the classroom to the real world. It is my goal to further connect with the community to help students pursue new opportunities and find even more relevance in what they are learning.
I live with my wife, Sarah, daughter, Audrey, and son, Michael in Pleasant Ridge, MI. We enjoy traveling around the world, checking out new local restaurants, hiking in the woods, going to the Zoo, the shores of Lake Michigan, and Downtown Detroit.
