Meet Mrs. Robinette

The former Ms. Merwin. joined the FlexTech High School staff in February 2012, a year after graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a BFA in Drawing and Photography. Over the past 9 years, I have been an advisor and have developed a successful art program. Currently I teach Studio, Art & Design, Graphic Design, Digital Photography, Project Flex - Visual Mediums, and Art Lab. I love watching my students take pride in the work they do and gain a critical eye for the art that exists around them. I do not expect every student to become an artist; rather, I hope that each will leave with a better appreciation and a stronger connection to art as a whole, along with the ability to handle life in a visually dominated world.

I grew up in Hartland, Michigan as the youngest of 3 siblings. In my spare time, I am a working portrait artist, second shooter and avid learner of new art skills and processes! I am personally invested in the process of creating, evaluating and analyzing art. Additionally, I love to travel, hike, and spending time with my family.
