OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Training will be offered at FlexTech

We are very excited to announce that FlexTech will be hosting their second OSHA 10 training for students this year in February, and our first OSHA 30 training in March! Daniel's Song, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the memory of a former FlexTech student, will be bringing OSHA 10 & 30 safety training and certification to our school. OSHA 10 & 30 is a government certification that is highly regarded by many employers. The main purpose of this program is to provide young adults with useful job skills they can implement now and carry forward into their futures.

We will have an assembly January 30th in the afternoon during school for all students. After the assembly, students will have the opportunity to apply for a spot in the program. We are asking for a $55 donation for the OSHA 10 and a $100 donation for the OSHA 30 in order to participate, but students will not be turned away if they are unable to donate. You can pay online here or in cash. Checks will not be accepted.

In order to host the training we will need to have parent donated items for breakfast and lunch at the events. Currently we have a sign-up genius for the OSHA 10 training in February. If you are able to donate please sign up here. There will be another as we get closer to the March OSHA 30.

The OSHA 10 training courses will take place on Friday, February 21st and Friday, February 28th from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. OSHA 30 will be Friday, March 13th, Saturday, March 14th, Friday, March 20th and Saturday, March 21st (same times). It is imperative that participating students are on-time and attend each session in its entirety, failure to do so will result in them not being able to complete the program. Upon completion, students will earn their OSHA certification and .25 high school credit.

We have several students who were placed in jobs, received raises, or were accepted into certain programs due to them having their OSHA training card and we are hoping to reach more this year! If a student completed the OSHA 10 last year they are able to participate in the OSHA 30 this year, but it is not a requirement.

Attached are the permission slips and short responses we need returned and completed from students along with their money. Please let us know if you have any questions!
